You no longer speak,
You no longer reply,
You consciously choose to distance yourself away,
All that remain are memories,
Of a beautiful friendship.
I understand — you have friends,
Who will smile, laugh, eat and drink with you,
Whisper sweet nothings and always say good things about you.
Have you ever thought what they speak of you in your absence?
Your ears have been poisoned and I know the culprits as well.
But you are a grown-up, independent-thinking individual,
Who am I to even say anything?
This is a painful separation – as friendships no longer remain valued!
Perhaps — time will show you the value of true friends.
May you be blessed and find peace,
In whatever you choose to do,
With whichever group of friends you like!
Sending light and good will your way.
